Tetebatu

With Your Own transport you can follow the road east from Tetebatu to KEMBANG KUNING, from where it's a six-kilometre steady climb to Jukut waterfall. (daily,RP1500, Parking RP500). You have to complete the List couple of kilometres on foot along a steep path with little shade, so take something to drink.

The waterfall is magnificent, as the water pours over a sheer cliff about 20m high into a circular pool dammed by a jumble of large boulders and surrounded on all sides by towering Cliffs covered in undergrowth. It's cool and shady even in the heat of the day, you can picnic near the river, and during the week it's fairly quiet from Kembang Kunung, a seven-kilometre back-road leads to Lendang Nangka. A few hundred metres from Kembang Kuning on this road is a small woodcarving workshop, worth a visit if you're in the area.

For accommodation on this road, see above. The Kelapa Muda is a small art shop/cafe in Kembang Kuning at the junction of the Tetebatu, Lendang, Nangka and Jukut roads - it's worth a stop for a cool drink at least

To the northwest of Tetebatu, Joben waterfitu (daily-, Rp300), also known as Otak Kokok Gading, is not really worth the effort: the water falls only a short distance and is fed into an open-air shower block. It's believed locally, however, that this is a sacred place and that the water will turn cloudy if you are ill.The area around the waterfall is crowded with stalls selling shampoo, but it's littered with rubbish and is not the place for a peaceful swim.
